DLA Piper closes Moscow and St Petersburg offices

The firm will not act for clients connected to the Russian state and maintaining a presence in Russia is ‘no longer viable’

DLA Piper has announced it is closing its offices in Moscow and St Petersburg amid the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.

The firm said it is intending to transfer the Russian business to its team there, and it will reportedly ensure an “orderly transition” in accordance with its legal and professional obligations to both its clients and people.
