Gherson Solicitors expands Extradition Practice

Roger Gherson, founding partner, said Biel is a ‘welcome addition’ to the firm's growing extradition practice. As the UK’s legal landscape continues to evolve following Brexit, so do the needs of its private and corporate clients.

London-based independent law firm Gherson Solicitors has added Agnieszka Maria Biel to the firm’s growing extradition practice.

Biel joins Gherson from leading West London criminal law firm Lansbury Worthington Solicitors where she grew a “proven track record” in advising and advocating in extradition cases to prevent extradition on a number of grounds including abuse of process and human rights.

Prior to joining Lansbury, the firm said she was an accredited police station representative at JFH Law LLP, and a trainee at the European Parliament in Brussels.

The extradition practice at Gherson has an “unrivalled” track record in handling complex cases involving often politically motivated charges and sensitive matters which have resulted in a reputation for handling some of the largest and most complex high-profile transnational cases.

According to the firm, the dedicated team has substantial experience in dealing with requests from the Russian Federation, former Soviet States, USA, EU, and Middle Eastern countries.

Roger Gherson, founding partner at Gherson Solicitors, said: “Agnieszka is a welcome addition to our growing extradition practice. As the UK’s legal landscape continues to evolve following Brexit, so do the needs of our private and corporate clients. Responding to these changes we have shaped our legal offerings to match.

“In the past year we have invested in some of the best talent in the market and we expect to continue this growth throughout 2022. As the likes of immigration and human rights law continue to be shaped by ever-changing government policy, we will continue to strategically implement the necessary changes to best cater to the needs of our growing client base.”
