Allen & Overy launches solicitor apprenticeship programme

Allen & Overy (A&O) will initially recruit six solicitor apprentices on the six year programme.

A&O has launched a solicitor apprenticeship programme for school leavers which is now open for applications.

The firm will recruit an initial cohort of six solicitor apprentices on a Solicitor Level 7 Apprenticeship programme.

At the end of the programme, the apprentices will have obtained an LLB (Hons) Law and Legal Practice from BPP University if successful, as well as becoming a qualified solicitor via the Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE).

The six year apprenticeship programme will start in September 2022. While aimed primarily at those completing their A-levels in 2022, it is open to any candidates without a degree.

A&O said the firm is “keen to attract a socio-economically diverse pool of high-achieving applicants”.

James Partridge, graduate recruitment partner and training principal, said: “After announcing the launch during the summer, we’re thrilled that the solicitor apprenticeship programme is now open for applications.

“Apprentices will spend time within our different practises and also in our Advanced Delivery and Solutions businesses, experiencing many of the different areas that the firm has to offer. Our apprenticeship programme will be the start of an alternative route into a truly rewarding legal career at a global law firm.”
