Law firms begin to cut ties with Russia amid sanctions

Although its Moscow office remains open, White and Case has said it is also reviewing its operations, whilst ‘taking steps’ to exit some representations from the region

A number of major international law firms who have links with Russia have confirmed that they are reviewing their Russian operations and ties with Russian clients in the wake of the ongoing Ukraine crisis.

London-based magic circle firm Allen and Overy has said it is currently “reviewing” all its Russia-related portfolio and will “refuse” new instructions and stop all Russia-linked work “that goes against our values”.
