Simmons & Simmons reappointed to BP legal panels
The law firm has held a place on BP's legal panel for the last seven years and the reappointment will extend the partnership until 2024.
International law firm Simmons and Simmons has announced that it has been reappointed to BP’s legal panels, with the appointment to both its UK and Singapore legal panels.
Simmons has held a place on BP’s legal panel for the last seven years and this latest panel term has seen BP expand its legal panel framework, introducing a new Singapore panel to which Simmons has also been appointed.
The new panel terms will commence in 2022 and it will last until 2024.
Despite BP’s decision to form new individual panels, the number of firms represented on the panels has reportedly decreased.
Simmons said this reflects BP’s decision to focus on forging closer partnerships with the firms on its roster.
Patrick Wallace, energy, natural resources and infrastructure partner, said: “BP’s legal team is a highly respected centre of excellence for energy and business law and a strong advocate for inclusion, diversity and innovation in legal practice, which are also key values for Simmons.
“We are very proud of the confidence BP places in Simmons and we look forward to sharing our experience, capabilities and innovative tools and techniques as we work with BP on its transition to a low carbon world.”
