UK Gov selects McDermott to advise on UK-India trade agreement

McDermott said its cross-border India practice team works closely with India related clients to navigate legal risks and ‘maximise the opportunities’ for cross-border trade

McDermott Will and Emery has announced it has been awarded a contract by The United Kingdom’s Department for International Trade (DIT), alongside consortium partners, UK-based TLT and Canada-based Borden Ladner Gervais (BLG), to advise the DIT on upcoming negotiations with India for a free trade agreement.

The consortium was appointed to both lots of the UK government’s Trade Law Panel in February of 2021, which was established to source legal advice in relation to international trade disputes and international trade negotiations.
