Lalive appoints London partner

An arbitration specialist, Genevieve Poirier joins the group from a position as counsel at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom

International dispute resolution law firm Lalive has announced the appointment of Genevieve Poirier as a partner at the group’s London office.

An arbitration specialist, Poirier joins the group from a position as counsel at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom.

She provides the role with experience across a range of commercial areas, including cross-border disputes in the telecommunications, oil and gas, insurance, shipping, and financial services sectors.

Domitille Baizeau, Lalive Geneva partner and chair of the firm’s board, said: “We are absolutely delighted that Genevieve has chosen to join Lalive. 

“Her disputes focus, international experience and English law expertise fit perfectly with our own practice and plan to continue growing in London as a strategic market. This is an exciting development for the firm.”

Launched in 2018, Lalive’s London department has since moved to larger offices on Cloak Lane and employs a total of four partners and 14 associates as of 1 September 2021.

Poirier added: “I am incredibly excited to join such a dynamic and well-respected firm and contribute to the rapid growth of the Lalive London office alongside the excellent team already there.”
