Mayer Brown has announced that it has elevated 65 lawyers across its worldwide offices. The promotions are effective 1 January 2022.

The group comprises 39 lawyers who have been promoted to partner, and 26 who have attained the position of counsel.

The lawyers represent 11 practice areas and 16 offices. The practices that saw the largest number of promotions include Banking and Finance, Corporate and Securities and Litigation and Dispute Resolution.

In terms of location, the Chicago, London and New York offices saw the largest number of promoted lawyers. In particular, it is the largest partner class in London since 2012

The move marks the largest promotion class of partners and counsel in the firm’s history, with the largest partner class in ten years. It is also the largest promotion of IP lawyers in the firm’s history.

Jon Van Gorp, global chair of Mayer Brown, said: “We congratulate our newly elevated lawyers on their professional success.

“This talented group of lawyers crosses multiple practice areas and geographies and certainly demonstrates that even in light of the challenges of the last 18 months, they continue to deliver superior legal service.”
