No5 Chambers welcomes two new silks

Harpreet Sandhu and Sultana Tafadar will be appointed to the rank of Her Majesty’s Counsel by the Lord Chancellor, taking the number of silks at No5 to 37

No5 Chambers has announced that Harpreet Sandhu and Sultana Tafadar will be appointed to the rank of Her Majesty’s Counsel by the Lord Chancellor, taking the number of silks at No5 to 37.

Sandhu is currently a member of the Crime and Regulatory Groups at No5, acting for both the prosecution and defence. 

He was called to the Bar in 2005, and his practice is predominantly comprised of murder trials, drugs offences, serious fraud work and health and safety prosecutions, where he has regularly appeared as Leading Junior Counsel.

Called to the Bar in 2005, Tafadar is a member of the crime and international human rights groups and is well known for her work in relation to counter terrorism matters. 

No5’s chief executive and director of Clerking, Tony McDaid, said: “We congratulate both Harpreet and Sultana on their appointment as Her Majesty’s Counsel and it is great to end a challenging year for everyone with such welcome news.
