Shoosmiths appoints new partner in Belfast

Jennings’ experience with renewables and alternative energy solutions ‘mirrors the firm’s focus on infrastructure and energy’

UK law firm Shoosmiths has appointed corporate lawyer Andrew Jennings as partner in a continuation of its growth plans in Northern Ireland.

Jennings is dual qualified in Northern Ireland and England and Wales, with a “reputation” for venture capital and private equity work. His experience spans Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK, advising a vast array of large local and international companies, private equity funds and fast growth businesses.

Jennings’ appointment “mirrors the firm’s focus on infrastructure and energy” with his experience within the sector, including renewables and alternative energy solutions.

Shoosmiths also made recent key appointments, including corporate lawyer Grant Edwards and finance lawyer Anna Vangrove, as part of its Northern Ireland growth strategy.

Mark Blair, Belfast co-head, said: “Andrew’s collaborative and client-focused reputation makes him the perfect fit for our Shoosmiths Belfast office. With extensive corporate experience paired with specialist infrastructure and energy knowledge, his appointment will no doubt be a success both internally and with clients.”

Jennings added: “The Shoosmiths Northern Ireland team has had rapid growth to date and I am excited to build upon its ambitious practices. I look forward to working with the national corporate team with its strong private equity credentials, as well as growing the firm’s infrastructure and energy presence within the local market.”
