South east law firm Thomson Snell and Passmore has welcomed Alan Kitcher as a new partner to its Trust Management team, bolstering its offering to clients.
Kitcher joins from Charles Russell Speechlys, where he was head of Trusts and Probate. He brings with him “significant” experience and expertise in advising wealthy families on the management and administration of wealth and asset protection structures.
He also has 16 years of experience in the private client industry with both accountancy and law firms.
In his new role, he will work closely with colleagues from across the firm’s Trusts, Probate and Tax Planning departments, to advise clients on a wide range of matters including UK trust and family investment company accounting, administration and taxation, charity accounting and administration, estate accounting and administration and specialist tax planning.
Kitcher will also support the Residential Conveyancing and Commercial Property teams, offering advice on issues such as Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and the Annual Tax on Envelope Dwellings (ATED).
Nicola Plant, head of Private Client at Thomson Snell and Passmore said: “We’re delighted to welcome Alan to the firm. With his experience of working in both accountancy and law firms, he will augment our already excellent team.
“We have ambitious growth plans for the department and his appointment is a key step in enabling us to achieve these aspirations, as well as further deepening and expanding the range of specialist trust and family investment company management services we offer to high net worth families and their businesses.”
Kitcher added: “I’m thrilled to be joining a firm with such a unique heritage, as part of team which is so well respected in the industry.
“Thomson Snell and Passmore has a reputation for delivering excellent client service – something which I am passionate about – and I’m looking forward to helping the team grow and develop as we work together to deliver an outstanding offering to clients.”
