Christopher Williams, the newly-appointed partner in Eversheds Sutherland’s banking practice, discusses his move from a magic circle law firm, his plans to enhance Eversheds Sutherland’s banking capabilities, and what is next for the practice

What is your history in the business?

I started in law in 2006 as a trainee at Linklaters. Since I trained, I have worked in various product areas – initially restructuring distressed private equity transactions following the Global Financial Crisis, but then moving, in around 2012, to specialise in corporate finance.
